Note: During battle, you can carry a large selection of items, equipment, and items that are unique to your personal ability. These will be used when you defeat enemies and level up. The characteristics of your equipment, including the statistics of your equipment, will strengthen as you progress in battle. Once you have gained enough experience points, you can advance to the next level, and your equipment and statistics will drastically increase. I have played a ton of ARPGs in the past 4 months and this game might be the absolute best, even to my surprise! The gameplay is solid (dice rolls and variable stats with skill trees and character buff) and it looks great. Graphical improvement over other recent titles seems to have been a focus and not such a lot of eye-candy to distract. A nice touch is the music/sound effects as the game progresses and the in-between cutscenes are perfectly executed, very immersive. The story is great and engaging, with lots of twists and turns along the way. The battle system is familiar but different enough to be unique. Boss battles (although sometimes frustrating) feel satisfying. Overall, very refreshing change of pace from previous games and well worth a try for fans of the genre.
