– The Elden Lord system allows you to freely join with other players to explore the Land Between. An Elden Lord can only control four characters, but it is possible to have one of the controlling Elden Lords disappear into the land of the gods, becoming a god. In addition, with strong allies, an Elden Lord can obtain many items that cannot be obtained by ordinary characters.

Buuuut…well, just for starters we get a game with a name that runs contrary to what it’s apparently trying to be – as in it’s apparent nothing of the sort, an RPG, especially one with an Elden Ring, as far as I’m aware there isn’t a single other one, a game which looks and sounds like nothing before, a game with a bizarre gimmick of making the player use a PS4 controller (mind you, the thing is quite clearly not a game controller, but a PS4 controller so it’s all pretty pointless), a game which so far has failed to stand out as anything other than a very polished indie title. And it’s not all bad, that PS4 controller stuff is pretty cool, I love the model-view-controller concept (god how I’d love if more games made heavy use of it) and the graphics are quite nice, but it’s all a bit far too underwhelming. And we’re not even talking about those silly AIs, this is a mostly single player game, the AIs are pretty weak and seem to do nothing but make me feel lazy, not that I’m saying the game is without merit or anything. And given all the parodies and jabs I’ve been making at it, I’m just willing to settle for that, much like I’ve settled for SWERY’s Wolf Among Us game…I was all set to get excited with that, but it turned out just as far a joke as it had to be. So it really isn’t that bad a game, it’s actually quite nice as long as you don’t let yourself get distracted by the awful gimmicks it’s saddled with.
