I wanted to introduce myself to anyone who might be interested in my review on Elden Ring.
I am a game designer, who just became interested in Final Fantasy. Since I was introduced to the game, I really liked it. The game feels much more realistic than the game of its time. The story had a nice flow and the game was fun to play. So in short the game is great.
However, Elden Ring, although I think, really disappointed me. On the surface, this seems to be an okay game, but the problems lie much deeper.
Simply, the game was not fun to play. It is quite nice, but quite a letdown because of the small details (which I will go into in my review). Unfortunately, even though the game is fun at first, the monotony and repetitive back and forth combat gets annoying after a while. The game is not very challenging. In addition, the monotone of the music and graphics forces me to turn it off, but I want to finish the game. It is a shame, because at the beginning it felt so great. The battle system is okay, but not totally good. Especially the party system. Although you have to raise the party, there is little interaction besides being able to give orders to your party. The reason for it, I suppose, is the time constraint. The story, while I like it and I think it is fun, just isn’t interesting. After one chapter and a half I completely forgot where I left of.
Again, I am not one to complain. I enjoy many games, and I like the game a lot. Also, maybe the reason I could enjoy it, is the fact that the developers had high expectations and this would be released after the very successful Final Fantasy XIII. I am glad I got it, and I will complete it.
